About Me

Hi, I’m Oscar, an independent board game designer from Sweden.

I’ve loved board games for as long as I can remember, but becoming a parent changed the way I looked at them. I started creating simple games for my kids—games designed around what they enjoyed playing. As they got older, those games became more advanced, the ideas became bigger, and somewhere along the way I realized that I didn’t just love playing board games. I loved creating them.

That was when I started taking game design more seriously.

I have a vivid imagination, and designing games has become an important creative outlet for me. There’s something incredibly satisfying about taking an idea that only exists in your head and gradually turning it into something people can actually sit down around a table and experience together.

Games Worth Coming Back To

One of the things I value most in a board game is replayability.

I believe a great game is one you keep coming back to—not simply because you enjoyed it the first time, but because every play can tell a slightly different story. Different characters, strategies, combinations, discoveries and unexpected moments should make each session feel like its own experience.

That philosophy is at the heart of the games I create.

I’m particularly inspired by fantasy and science fiction in all their forms—books, movies, video games and, of course, board games. I love strange worlds, adventurous characters, magic, monsters and the feeling that you never quite know what you’ll discover next.

And if I can find an excuse to put a cat, dog or some other animal into one of those worlds, even better ;)

For me, board game design is more than a hobby. It’s where my imagination gets to run free, where ideas become worlds, and where those worlds can eventually be shared with other people around a table.

And then, hopefully, brought back to the table again.
